I have 3 cats that absolutely LOVE all the Royal Canin dry foods. It makes me so happy to see them rush to their food bowls and start crunching happily. They have stuck their noses up at most of the supermarket stuff in the past. One sniff at that and they're gone! That was several years ago and now they've never been healthier. I recommend everyone try giving their cat or dog the Royal Canin and watch them hoe into it. Guaranteed.
I started buying Royal Canin Urinary SO about 8 years ago when one of my cats entered first stage kidney failure. This particular cat would not eat anything but dry food, which was the cause of his kidney problems, and after weeks of trying to force wet food onto him I caved and bought Royal Canin. He ate the Royal Canin exclusively for the rest of his life, which was nearly 6 years.
As male cats in particular are prone to kidney disease if they eat dry food I have kept my 8 year old desexed male on this all his life. He is a cross persian (prone to kidney disease from what I've been told) and has absolutely no sign of problems and we don't expect him ever to have any.
Even my vet is amazed at how good this dry food is and I cannot recommend it highly enough to cat owners.
