DVDProfessor Lawrence Wetherhold (Dennis Quaid) is a brilliant intellectual giant - but when it comes to solving the conundrums of love and family, he is downright flummoxed. His son (Ashton Holmes) wont confide in him, his teenage daughter (Ellen Page) is an acid tongued over achiever, and his brother (Thomas Haden Church) has perfected the art of freeloading. A widower who can't seem to find passion in anything anymore, Lawrence is sleepwalking through life until he falls for his former student Janet (Sarah Jessica Parker). The circumstances cause him to stir from his deep freeze with comical consequences for himself and everyone around him.
