They say not to judge a book by it's cover well the material inside definately met up to the high expectations the cover potrays. After sitting down and watching the first eposide on DVD it made me realise how grateful I was I did not put myself through the pain staking effort of waiting a week to watch the next episode when it was on Television. When it came to television I took the gamble that I would watch it if it came out on DVD a gamble that has paid of 1000 fold.
Here I am sitting on the edge of my seat watching Australian History unravel before my eyes knowing that I could choose how many episodes I could watch at once and not have to wait until an ad break to get a cup of coffee. It is the only way to watch this exciting and intense Drama. Vince Colosimo by far was the best actor, although he only played a small part compared to how long the series went for he left a mark that made UNDERBELLY the phenomenon it is to me today. So buy! buy! buy! is all I can say and strap yourself in for many exciting hours of intense Australian Drama. It is hard to believe at times it all really happened but guess what IT DID.
This series is fantastic. From the first time you put the DVD in you are entranced by the magnificent acting and storylines. Showcasing the true story of the decade-long Melbourne Gangland War.
With such talent as Vince Colosimo and Gyton Grantley, this series is a wonderful showcase of Australian acting talent. The acting is spot-on with engaging performances and realistic costuming.
The storyline, whilst dark, is fantastic and engaging, with each episode advancing the characters in the plot in such a way that you are enticed into wathing the next episode.
Now, I'm not going to give away the ending, but I will say this, the ending is fabulous, it leaves you awestruck and gasping for more.
All in all a five-star series, with fantastic storylines and characters. Definitley a great buy with many hours of entertainment in store.
A must have for every lover of Australian acting, and lover of Australian history.
