When H.G. Wells wrote “The War of the Worlds,” all of these concepts were new. Alien invasions. Microbes. Immunity. Putting all of these ideas in a science fiction piece was the “Jurassic Park” of its day. Of course, more than 100 years later, we’ve seen these things many times before.

The strength of this film stems from the choices Spielberg made - from the final confrontation between Tom Cruise’s character and Tim Robbins, to the manner of extermination the aliens use on us. Chilling.

War of the Worlds

When my husband took me to see this film I was a little bit apprehensive because Tom was in it. Boy, was it a surprise.
I was glued to my seat with the suspense and when I left the cinema my legs were shaking and my heart was skipping

Special FX show.

Didn't really like this at all, i think it was mostly just showing off special FX rather than anything else.

Movie WAR OF THE WORLDS

I thought this movie was good until the ending where the aliens were all banished from Earth by Tom.

Great special effects but some really annoying screaming the whole way through.

Redone well

This movie has great special effects. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. Quite a bit different than the original version but I think it is an improvement. I liked the character Tom Cruise plays. A bit out of the ordinary for him. If you have a good surround sound system this movie will give it a good work out.
